The buildings where we live, work have a profound effect on our health. Embodied carbon of building materials includes the emissions due to energy consumption for resource extraction and material manufacture as well as the carbon emissions from transportation for building materials.
Emission = Quantity of building material (e.g. m3) x carbon emission factor (kg CO2-e/m3)
Emission = Weight of building material (e.g. kg) x the distance of transportation for material (km) x the carbon emission factor for transport means (kg CO2-e/tonne∙km)
